Art 233:DRAWING

Our introductory drawing course is designed to instruct students in developing observational drawing skills so they can scrupulously perceive and represent the world around them as well as more subjective experiences.  This course will also depart from conventions of drawing to explore experimentation, dimensional iterations, drawing as a direct conduit to thinking, and the expansive history and appearance of drawing throughout art and culture.  Students will explore materials as well as ideas and forms in the innumerable techniques of drawing that include marking, lines, shape, tone, scale, representation and composition to explore both traditional and less conventional methodologies.
