Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB because I want to help students feel heard and represented in decisions that shape their experience at the University of Oregon. Through my involvement in campus leadership and community service, I’ve learned how important it is to listen to others and follow through on their concerns. I hope to help strengthen connections between students and CAS leadership, bring attention to challenges students face, and support opportunities that help students succeed academically and feel connected to their campus community.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB to help bridge the gap between students' voices and CAS leadership. I believe improving the student experience starts with listening to the people experiencing it firsthand. I hope to bring student concerns to the table, learn from perspectives different from my own, and, preeminently, help turn those conversations into meaningful action and improvements.

Why did you join USAB? I decided to join USAB because I want to learn how decisions around student life and academics are being made. I am specifically interested in psychology, and I think being on USAB will give me the opportunity to explore as well as advocate for how we can make decisions that will positively impact the undergraduate study body at UO and their mental health.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB because I want to help ensure that the academic and professional opportunities available to CAS students reflect the wide range of disciplines and interests within the college. Through my own experiences, I've become particularly interested in how we can make career development resources and opportunities more accessible to students across majors and better support them as they prepare to pursue their goals beyond the classroom.

Why did you join USAB? I'm involved in the FIG program, the Kuhl Psychology Lab, Women in Pre-Health Sciences, and ASURE, which gives me a view of CAS from several different communities. I joined USAB to learn how decisions are made in CAS and to help make the college more responsive to what students need. Through FIG, I see where first year students struggle to find or use available resources, and I hope to bring that perspective to the Dean's office.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB to better the student experience through expanding knowledge of and access to resources for all kinds of needs. I am excited to provide input as someone with diverse experiences and connections to multiple disciplines/subjects. Representation from all kinds of students is important to me, whether that's academically, professionally, identity, or otherwise, and I hope to achieve that on USAB.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB because my path to UO ran through two other schools, Chemeketa and WWU, and I know how easily transfer students can get lost in policies and advising. As President of the Economics Club, I also hear about what students struggle with. I want to bring those perspectives to the board and help make CAS decisions reflect the students they affect.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB to support others in science who have struggled to find opportunities for growth. I now have a job I love and professors I admire, but I had to work hard for it without much guidance. I value being around those who think like me in science—but also those who think differently—so I can be a better advocate for all types of students and friends.

Why did you join USAB? I joined USAB in an effort to both bolster my teamwork and leadership skills by working with a variety of people from different disciplines, and to advocate for accessibility within the STEM majors offered at CAS. I am passionate about broadening comfortability and access to research opportunities for STEM students, and building community within these fields so that our students have a network of like-minds to work with and learn from.

Why did you join USAB? II applied to the CAS USAB because I want to help make the university and college I’m proud of a better, more inclusive place. As a first-generation student and someone who benefited greatly from the AEC office, I’m passionate about advocating for equity and ensuring all students, including those with disabilities, can access the resources they need. In my short time at UO, I’ve come to deeply value the diverse campus community and want to give back by amplifying voices that are often unheard. USAB gives me the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, grow alongside a diverse team, and use my leadership and service experience to support and uplift others. I’m truly grateful for the chance to be involved.

Why did you join USAB? Student connections and transitions! As a third-year Neuroscience and Anthropology CHC student, I remember being overwhelmed by my transition from high school to college, and the plethora of resources the university provided. I joined USAB because I believe it's important to connect students with valuable resources on campus, many which might be passed up. Other experiences I have at UO are research at Knight Campus, working with UO Housing, volunteering at the Holden Center, and working with international students at ISSS!

Why did you join USAB? On USAB, I hope to make advising more accessible to students, whether it be through more efficient technology, encouraging more group-advising sessions, or making engaging social media content to bring awareness to resources. Furthermore, I hope to advocate for more undergraduate research funding while bringing more awareness to the HPHY Undergraduate Research Stipend, so all CAS students have an equal opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Why did you join USAB? I joined the USAB because I wanted to practice and apply advocacy skills for nontraditional students like myself. I also joined to learn how policy and administrative decisions are made and how they affect the student experience and better provide my input where it matters most. I am so excited to collaborate with other like-minded and passionate people to make our school a better place. It is a privilege to represent parents, veterans, and transfer students at such a level.
