Oregon Law students have the ability and determination to make a difference in their communities and professional lives. Yet for many aspiring lawyers, the cost of legal education can limit what’s possible before a career even begins.
Scholarships bridge that gap. They help ensure financial circumstances do not determine who can become a lawyer or what kind of lawyer they can become.
We are a public law school that educates lawyers who reflect the people and places they serve. Your investment in student success can expand access to legal education and strengthen justice, economic mobility, and civic leadership across Oregon and beyond.
Record numbers of Oregon Law students are gaining hands-on professional experience while serving communities across Oregon, supported by scholarship stipends from the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund (OLSPIF).
Stipends make it possible for students to pursue public interest and public service work with organizations that may not have the resources to offer paid positions, helping expand access to legal services.
Second-year Law Duck Alice Miller spent the summer assisting survivors of domestic violence through Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Her experience shows how donor support helps students move from the classroom into public service and careers.
“Domestic violence survivors face unique challenges that make it especially difficult for them to access the law. I have loved every second of this work, and I know that I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the OLSPIF stipend,” Miller said.
