New Location for the Duck Nest Wellness Center
The Duck Nest is preparing a new space in the Student Recreation Center, where students can explore wellness in many different ways.
We plan to have our soft open in fall 2026!
What's Coming in the New Duck Nest?
Our Vision and Mission

- Our mission is to empower students through learning and action to collaboratively build services, programs, and environments that promote health and well-being across our campus community.
Peer Support is Key
Students staff the space, provide the programming, and connect other students to campus and community resources. Peer-to-peer support is a successful strategy cited widely in the literature to significantly improve health outcomes.
What We Offer
The new Duck Nest Wellness Center is a welcoming, flexible space designed to support connection, collaboration, and student well-being. With a capacity for up to 50 people, the Duck Nest offers areas to:
- Rest and Recharge: Comfortable areas for students to pause, decompress, and reset between activities.
- Coffee and Tea Station: A simple hospitality feature that encourages students to linger, connect, and feel welcome.
- The Wellness Pod: A dedicated space for quiet reflection, wellness activities, and intentional moments of reset. Students can book the space for up to one hour.
- Flexible, multi-use collaborative space:
- Team or department meetings
- Student worker collaboration and program development
- Casual studying, working, and connecting
- Cozy Corner: A comfortable, low-stimulation area for students who need a quieter place to unwind and recharge.
