Substance Abuse Prevention and Education

The University of Oregon’s Substance Abuse Prevention and Education (SAPE) program supports students in making informed decisions about alcohol, cannabis, and other drugs. SAPE uses peer-led programming, harm-reduction, and evidence-informed strategies to reduce substance-related concerns, combat stigma, and connect students with education, screening, and support. Prevention efforts include peer education, campus trainings, screening tools, and connections to recovery and clinical resources.

Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act

To meet federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act requirements, the University of Oregon provides an annual notification with current university alcohol and drug policies, applicable laws, health information, and prevention and support resources. View the current annual notification.
