Bet on Yourself

This week in New York has been an absolute whirlwind. The movement of the city, culture, people etc has been a blast. One of the biggest trends that I have been hearing throughout the week of visits, has to do with ourselves as individuals. By this I mean, that in order to make our path in this crazy industry, we have to be the captain of our own ship. Here are some of gems I’ve picked up on.

- Find and show your side hustle

- Become a slasher ( jack of multiple trades )

- Know your worth

- Trust your gut

Although to some this may seem like a “duh” moment, it was really interesting to hear this as a constant across the board. I think a lot of times we can get caught up in what others are doing, and lose sight of what we have going on. So just remember going forward, that at times when we’ve got white noise in background don’t let it distract you, instead let it drive you. Finally, as many of us are stepping out in the industry come June, remember that you have one life, so believe in yourself and the work that you have done.
