Subway Surfing
As I entered the subway for the first time in my life my first morning in NYC, I was instantly telling myself I hate this and I could never figure this out by myself. Although I had many friends to help, I was overwhelmed and uncomfortable with the many people all hustling to get to work and hopping from train to train. As someone that hates being late or even right on time, I was stressed with trusting an underground train cluttered with people to get me to where I needed to be on time. After forcing myself to learn how to read and follow the signs, I now feel much more confident on the subway. As the week moves on, I find more confidence that the subway is not as scary as it seems and in order to embrace New York, I must embrace the adventures taken on the subway. It is a beautiful thing to get from one part of this giant city to another so quickly by hopping on an underground train. The people watching isn’t half bad either.
