Strategy is like driving…

This week I had the privilege to hear some of the most insightful advice from brilliant people in the Industry. The quote that resonated with me most this week was from Brian Austin the Associative Creative Strategy Director at Code&Theory. He gave tons of advice that was all filled with wisdom. Yet I will never forget this quote:

“Strategy is like driving, there are no wrong ways, only ways that are less efficient.”

I find this so true and very powerful, as a strategist you can get frustrated and impatient when searching through data for a key insight or trying to find the right audience. This quote seems to give me some clarity on the process of strategy. Sometimes I wonder if I am being intuitive enough or if my process will lead to the right direction. Yet this seems to speak to those questions and reminds me to work hard, think smart, and I will find my way.
