Advertising is defined as “the profession of producing marketing for commercial products or services.”

To me? It is far more than that. Advertising at its core is selling stuff, however, the beauty in it is how it comments on culture and the world around you. Advertising, when done right, can make a difference.

As I sat on the 1 train this morning I saw this series of prints and for a second the humor of the ads shook away my worries. For a couple of moments I wasn’t afraid of being late. I wasn’t afraid of getting lost. I wasn’t afraid of this city. For a moment this print made a difference.

The humor settled the nerves and for a moment I felt like I belonged in New York. For a second I didn’t feel so alone in a city that can be the loneliest place on Earth. If I took anything from today it was to work hard, stay humble, keep your head up and find the humor in life.
