The Oregon Ducks entered their conference bye-week with hopes of picking up a couple wins and maybe gaining some confidence. In their first of two games against the 13-18 Lindenwood Lions, Oregon picked up a relatively easy 8-0 win to improve to 24-11 on the season. In the first couple of innings, both teams struggled to generate much offense. Oregon pitcher Morgan Scott was lights out in the first inning, but their offense was unable to capitalize. She had a strong second inning to keep the game in Oregon’s control before senior Ariel Carlson was able to open up scoring in the bottom half. The Ducks defense shut down the Lions’ offense once again in the top of the 3rd, and senior Allee Bunker picked up an RBI in the bottom to extend their lead to 2-0. 

While the outcome was never in doubt, the bottom of the 4th is when the Ducks were able to blow the game wide open. Oregon spent much of the half-inning with a runner on…

Eugene, OR-- After an up-and-down start to the season for the Ducks, the team has found its rhythm over the past few weeks to the tune of ten straight victories. On the other side, the Beavers are starting to regain some of the success they had earlier on this season when they won 11 of their first 13. Over the past five games, Oregon State has won four, but it's still a shadow of the team it was back in early March. It’ll be a big telling sign where both teams are truly at in the middle of the 2023 season after coming into their campaigns with big expectations.

Oregon: One of the big reasons for the Ducks’ recent success has been the consistency at the plate. For the first month of the season, Oregon struggled to find an identity offensively with their stars off to a slow start. Oregon take on the Portland Pilots in a midweek match up Tuesday night at PK Park. Oregon on a 9 game win streak looks to stay hot and add one more. Portland on the other hand look to get things back on track as they have dropped 3 of their last 4 game. However, things didn’t start too well for the pilots as the first 2 batters got out and then LF Scavotto got stranded at first after Toglia went down swinging. The Ducks went on to capitalize on this as Sabin Ceballos hits a massive moonshot of a 3 run HR to give Oregon a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1st.

Following a scoreless 2nd inning from both teams, Portland was able to get things back on track as Jake Holcroft, following back to back flyouts, had a rocket of a HR sending the ball into the parking lot, but the Ducks had yet another answer. By Charles Martindale Under familiar cloudy skies at the Hamlin Sports Complex, the Bushnell Beacons began a seven games in seven days stretch, starting with the visiting Linfield Wildcats. Despite entering the game at 11-37, and playing in a non-conference game, Bushnell seemed up to the challenge of a D3 opponent at first, leading after four and staying competitive after a rough fifth inning, but their lack of depth led to what head coach Tommy Richards described as “death by self inflicted wounds”. Bushnell starter Caleb Watson retired the Wildcats in quick order to begin the game, and a pair of Beacons reached in the bottom half of the first, but Bushnell came away empty handed thanks in part to a caught stealing with nobody out.
