In a dramatic defensive battle, the Oregon Ducks soccer team  lost 1-0 to the Washington Huskies in Papé Field. The Ducks went into this game in the midst of a tough season, with a record of 0-14-2 and a streak of 8 losses. The team had lost its previous game at Stanford to the Cardinal 2-0 but looked to bounce back against a major rival. The Huskies went into the game with a 7-5-2 record after tying at home to the Colorado Buffaloes 1-1.

The winless Oregon Ducks will take on the Washington Huskies on Thursday night at Papé Field, after their tough 2-0 loss to the fifth ranked Stanford Cardinal. In that game, Cardinal midfielder Jasmine Aikey had a good performance, scoring the game's opening goal in the 8th minute and assisting Kennedy Wesley, who scored the second goal in the 76th minute. A positive for the Ducks is that sophomore goalie Maddy Goldberg made history, tying the program's save record with 15 in the game.

The Ducks have a record of 0-14-2, with both ties in non-conference away games. This gives them zero conference standing points. The team has a streak of eight consecutive losses. The key for this next game is to improve on the defensive front, as they have conceded 43 goals this season while only scoring seven. The Oregon Ducks volleyball team came into Sunday's match against the Stanford Cardinal with high hopes of solidifying their top-eight rankings. Coming into this match the Ducks have a great record but have lost the past two Sunday home games they have played against Washington State and Arizona State respectively. However, in their last match against UC Berkeley, they swept and had a .406 hitting percentage. Optimism was high amongst the team and a victory against Stanford was very much a possibility.

The first set began well for Oregon when Mimi Colyer opened with a kill scoring the first point of the match. The set remained a fierce back-and-forth battle between the two teams with neither going on any long scoring streaks. Eventually, Stanford came out the victor winning set number one 25-23. Going into set two Oregon was hoping to reverse their set one fortune and Stanford was hoping to continue their momentum. This set was again…
