Queue up, “On the Road Again” by Willie Nelson because No. 14 Oregon Softball is continuing the early season trip from February 16th through the 18th in San Diego, CA. On Monday, outfielder Ariel Carlson received Pac-12 Player of the Week honors. Carlson is currently second on the team batting average wise, hitting .500, only trailing Kai Luschar who is batting .550. Carlson also posted two home runs and ten runs batted in. I think something that will come out in this tournament is how this team battles fatigue. Plane trips, back-to-back games, and five games in three days will be a tough test.

Games 1 and 5 vs Texas A&M: Fri, Feb 16 @ 10 A.M and Sat, Feb 18 @ 10 A.M.

To win these games, Oregon must play a complete seven innings. Texas A&M started the season hot at 4-0 with only one game going the full seven innings due to the mercy rule.…

Set to square off in a pivotal battle for 2nd place in the PAC-12, Oregon and Washington State were well aware of the implications of victory. This would be their second matchup of the year, with Oregon winning their first bout 89-84. 

Suffering from a litany of injuries, the Ducks were short-staffed, being forced to run an eight-man rotation. Washington State would be forced to employ a similar strategy, essentially running a six-man rotation.

In the beginning of the first half, the game showed early signs of being a fierce duel as each team matched each other, bucket for bucket. At the 10:00-minute mark, Oregon trailed Washington State by one point following a contested layup by Jermaine Couisnard.

The Cougars would answer with a six-point run over the next minute, a run that would set the tone for the rest of the half. Oregon would fight back to end the half strong, riding a six-point scoring wave to close the deficit to…

Both coaches have put their teams in a good position to make the NCAA Tournament this year. Oregon and Washington State have teetered on and off ESPN’s Bracketology “Last Four In.” Now, Oregon is sitting at “Next Four Out,” and Washington State is at “Last Four In.” This game has massive tournament implications in both the Pac-12 and the NCAA. If Oregon goes undefeated against the Washington teams this weekend, the chances of getting in will rise. If Washington State can go undefeated against the Oregon teams, their chances rise even higher. This game tips off Saturday on Pac-12 Network at 2 p.m.

Eugene, Ore. — The Oregon Ducks look to open their 2024 season against the Youngstown State Penguins at Papé Field this Friday at 5 p.m. Coaching her first game for the Ducks, head coach Jessica Drummond is looking to start her Oregon coaching career off with a win. An Oregon alum who played from 2009-2012, Drummond has spent her past seven years at the University of Vermont as an assistant coach, where she helped Vermont secure its first American East tournament championship in program history.

The Ducks are led by superstar senior Morgan McCarthy, who occupies the midfield as the premier attacking threat for Oregon. Leading the team in goals scored last year with 37 on a .440 shooting percentage, McCarthy is the veteran leader that is key to Oregon’s game plan. In addition to her scoring prowess, she led Oregon in draw controls last year with 44 and currently ranks sixth in program history for draw…
