Oregon’s home match-up against Stanford was one of the most highly anticipated games of the year for the Ducks. The Oregon Ducks faced off against the second best team in the nation, the reigning national champions, Stanford women’s basketball. The Ducks started off hot- they were a lot more efficient than Stanford in the first half. Stanford started off the game ice cold from three point range; in the first 12 minutes of the game, the Cardinal went 0 for nine from three. Oregon controlled the tempo in the first half, holding Stanford to only 30.3 percent from the field. The Ducks led by four at the end of the first quarter, 14-10. In the second quarter, Stanford woke up and improved their play. The cardinal shot an abysmal 11.8 percent from the field of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Stanford shot an improved 50% from the field. Sydney Parrish had an impressive first half, totaling 10 points and 5 rebounds in the first half…

Matthew Knight Arena was packed in pink for the Oregon Women’s Basketball game, as Oregon faced the UC Berkeley Bears in a Friday night game. The Ducks have been under criticism for their poor shooting of late, and their underwhelming results mixed with below average shot selection to start the night proved why such criticism has been warranted. Oregon trotted out their consistent starting lineup of Te-Hina Paopao, Maddie Scherr, Sydney Parrish, Endyia Rogers, and Nyara Sabally, who combined to begin the game converting on just one of their first nine shot attempts. However, solid defense, combined with solid bench scoring, kept the Ducks in the game throughout the first quarter. Sedona Prince, relegated to a bench role, came in and drained her first jumper of the night, something Eugenians have grown accustomed to seeing for the 6’7” forward. Rogers, who came into the game averaging 14.4 points a game as the lead…

After offensive struggles in their series against Oregon State that ended with each team earning a win, Oregon came out against UCLA with a much better offensive performance in their 67-53 win over the UCLA Bruins. 

The Ducks opened up the first quarter with three assists on their first three baskets, including an opening three from Maddie Scherr. For a team that only averages about 15 assists a game, they ended with 11 in the first half. The Ducks had a much better offensive output in the first half as well. Oregon finished the first half hitting 51 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Te-Hina Paopao, Endyia Rogers, and Maddie Scherr all finished the first half with two threes each. Oregon also did a great job defensively only holding the Bruins to 36 percent shooting in the first half. Oregon ended the first half doubling UCLA’s score, 40-20.
