Biography:
Karen McIntyre is an academic expert in solutions journalism, constructive journalism and journalism practices in East Africa. Her research focuses on solutions journalism, an approach to reporting that examines credible responses to social problems, and how it can contribute to more socially responsible news coverage. She also studies journalists’ perceptions of their roles and how those roles are carried out in practice. Her international research examines journalism and press freedom in East Africa, with a particular focus on Rwanda.
