Minor in ethics at Oregon
The minor in ethics gives students tools for critically reflecting on moral questions. Students choose ethics-related courses from the Department of Philosophy, in topics such as medical ethics, internet ethics, and moral theory. Students who complete the minor in ethics will have skills in critical thinking and social engagement and be prepared to take on the major moral challenges of the 21st century.
Curriculum overview
The minor has a straightforward structure that makes it easy for students to focus on ethics while also completing their coursework in their chosen major.
Ethics minors can take advantage of the many public lectures the Department of Philosophy hosts, as well as regional, national, and international conferences.
Ethics minors can also submit essays for the Philosophy Matters Prize, which is awarded by the Department of Philosophy annually for the best UO undergraduate and graduate student essays on philosophical reflection.
