Minor in bioengineering at Oregon

Bioengineering sits at the interface of engineering and the natural sciences, and students with a strong foundation in both have what it takes for innovation and problem solving. A minor in bioengineering can complement a primary major, given its alignment with majors such as biology, chemistry and biochemistry, human physiology, and physics. Students apply their natural science background to bioengineering problems, research, and innovation.

Curriculum overview

  • The minor begins with “Fundamentals of Bioengineering” courses over three terms, emphasizing experiential design and problem-solving skills.

  • Upper-division coursework offers a chance to take specialized bioengineering courses tailored around Knight Campus research areas.

Careers in bioengineering

Completing the bioengineering minor is a great way to prepare for a career in the biotech industry or to pursue graduate training in bioengineering, medicine, or law.
