When I was wandering around the city on the third day of my trip to New York I found myself overwhelmed with the amount of inspiration that was flooding my brain. I realized that the reason I was so inspired by the things around me wasn’t necessarily because I was in New York City, but simply because I had changed my settings. Because I had such an incredibly busy winter term, I wasn’t able to change up my environment very often which resulted in a sort of stagnation of my creativity. After coming back to Eugene I have found a new appreciation for my surroundings and am once again feeling inspired by my settings due to the fact that I switched up what was around me, even just for a week.
