“We’re on the precipice of something big,” isn’t a quote from this week, it’s a quote to define the next generation of makers. I’ve heard this sentence everywhere and at this point I’m a little numb to the idea that anything I can do will make a change in the world. New York is a big city. No- that’s an understatement. New York City is like the Big City of big cities. Even though I grew up in Chicago and I know what a Big City is like, something about New York intimidates me.

That is, until I got rid of the Chicago chip on my shoulder and opened myself up to the experiences NYC has to offer. The agencies are amazing but more than that I feel comfortable asking strangers which train to take or wandering into a store I wouldn’t normally take a second glance at. In my opinion, these things are equally important. After all, NYC is so much more than an advertising hub, it’s a cultural wonderland and I am soaking up as much as I can.
