Since arriving in New York Saturday afternoon, my laziness and pure dread for learning the subway system lead me to taking a couple Uber rides here and there. But, the extra money spent came with some extra knowledge gained. While driving in New York City, our Uber drivers explained that you should use your horn absolutely whenever. Some examples would include: 

1. When a bus is switching lanes. 

2. When a car hits you because there was a merge and you didn’t let them in. 

3. When pedestrians have the right of way. 

4. When you are deciding to hit another car or not.

5. When someone is honking at you.

6. And definitely when you are cutting someone else off and they simply aren’t letting you in. 

With these top tips I feel entirely more prepared for (not getting run over) in this wild city full of amazing opportunities. I also have decided that now that I have mastered the roads in NY, it is time to master the subway on our trip to Wieden & Kennedy tomorrow morning. I cannot wait for the opportunities this week holds and the doors it may open.
