Coming to New York for the first time was truly a great  experience. It was like I was introduced to a whole new world but on Thursday night I had the experience of a lifetime. I was able to travel to the Bronx and go to the Yankees game along with Justice McCree. Now just going to a Yankee game is a cool experience but, we got to sit in the first row eye just one section over from the owner. This was crazy and unexpected it all happened in a matter of 24 hours. Yankees starting pitcher and now the longest standing member of the Yankees CC Sabathia had tickets for us waiting at gate 4 in Yankee stadium. This is crazy because things have come around full circle CC gave me a scholarship to attend school and without that scholarship I probably wouldn’t even be able to attend Oregon therefore I would have never made it on this trip or all the way to New York! Now I am in New York and at the Yankee game because he wanted to share this experience with me and it was amazing. Growing up we didn’t have too many role models that actually went on to do something big. In 2009 when CC signed with the Yankees probably one of the most iconic franchises in sports history it showed kids growing up in Vallejo you can really make your dreams happen. Having this experience just gave me more motivation to chase my dreams and inspire other kids from North Vallejo.
