The best filtering system when sorting out where you would work or who you would work with, is being unapologetically yourself. Usually when someone tells the story of getting a job they say, “It’s about who you know”. This is proven to be true many times over, but knowing someone means not burning bridges and making human connections. Again, based on being yourself. In this industry, people often try to match a style or “fit in”. Sometimes it’s about opposites attracting— bringing a fresh/different perspective and having confidence in yourself that inspires others to do the same. You’re not always going to say the perfect thing, make everyone happy, or find your agency-match. BUT you’re gonna be a lot happier & honest. A lot of people I talked to that are working in agencies spoke to this point.

I know, I know, so much easier said than done. But it’s something to practice.
