At an agency visit, if you see an opportunity to have a quick conversation with a recruiter nothing should stop you. Here are some tips I’ve found to be helpful.

1.     Step one is simple, approach the recruiter. I’ve found the best time to speak with him or her is usually at the end of the agency visit, while they are escorting you to the exit.

2.     Shake their hand and introduce yourself. Confidence is key.

3.     Have a casual conversation about your interests/agency work/what you think of New York/ etc.

4.     When the time feels right, ask for the recruiter’s email. Have a pen and paper ready. Make sure to say thank you and mention that you will be in touch.

5.     Actually get in touch with them. This is your future. Take it into your own hands.
