Jack of all trades, master of?
Amid the celebrations and cheers for those securing opportunities, some students may feel like they’re still (in-the-now) floating in the middle of the deep blue called “the Final.” This can be especially tough on creatives, with the question “Do I know enough?,” indefinitely drifting around in our heads. Projects like the following only further these anxieties by their high level of rendering and conception: [ uxdesign.cc/turning-spotify-into-jukebox-c6f0ae031284 ] Yes, while we’re not a design school with an emphasis on the crazy bells and whistles, we are an idea machine; and if there’s one thing that I’ve painfully come to learn over the last 6 months is that an idea is more than enough. It’s about where you take that idea! So guess what creatives: you are enough. Don’t waste time moping over what’s not in your tool box, but instead revel in everything that sets you apart from your neighbor and let it shine. Your toolbox isn’t a bounding box, but an open door for a new tool acquired through a crazy idea!
Just think about those video-games where you need a new tool to get to the next-stage: that’s us.

Discovery is a beautiful thing.
Every year I have a revelation right about now. A week or so away from an amazing experience where invested people go to a wondrous place, I realize that I love watching people find themselves. Sure it’s about advertising done well, about the excitement of a city that has no equal. I love knowing students will use this. But more, it’s about ten years from now. Someone will remind me that this is where they understood a “career,” where they found themselves with the right questions.
This year will be no different. Here we go, all 117 students and faculty.
Ready.
