Join us for an exciting exploration of Raku in this immersive, multi-session workshop! Perfect for ceramic enthusiasts looking to experience the drama and beauty of Raku process, from making the clay to firing.

Session 1October 2, Discover the secrets behind creating a strong Raku clay body. Learn about clay additives and structural forms ideal for Raku firing, then begin throwing your own pieces using Raku clay.

Session 2 October 16, Dive into the world of Raku glazes! Explore glaze application techniques and watch a short firing demonstration using instructor examples to understand the process before glazing your own work.

Session 3 October 30, Dive into the world of Raku glazes! Explore glaze application techniques and ready your bisqued pots!

Session 4 (Extended) November 6, Experience the thrill of Raku firing in a dramatic outdoor setting! Our final session will run for three hours as we fire all your glazed works together, revealing stunning metallic and crackle effects unique to Raku.

Experience Level - Previous wheel experience is helpful, as this workshop focuses on the Raku process—additives, glazing, and firing—rather than wheel throwing or handbuilding techniques.

Workshop registration has specific dates for fall term. Please plan to attend the following sessions- October 2,16, 30 and November 6.
