<div>Random matrix theory is a branch of probability with applications in physics, finance, computer science, biology, and more. This talk will introduce the basic ideas of random matrix theory (linear algebra with a probabilistic twist)! We will look at
two important models for random matrices (Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble and Wishart ensemble) and see how they can be applied in physics and in finance.</div>

I will also talk a bit about my journey to becoming a mathematician. It was not a straight line and involved teaching high school for four years before returning to school for my PhD. Since then, I�ve studied math in four countries! I'm happy to discuss
my experiences with anyone who is curious about different career paths.<br>
