Marcela remembers always being connected to her Latino Roots. First, through an immersion program in High School and began a M.E.Ch.A. chapter at her high school. While in college, she remained involved with Latino communities and is a mentor to children. Although she was born in Sacramento, California, she recognizes her Latino identity and specifically identifies as Peruvian-Salvadorian.<\/p>\n

Marcela siempre recuerda estar conectada a sus ra\u00edces Latinas. Primero, durante un programa de inmersi\u00f3n en la secundaria donde inici\u00f3 una secci\u00f3n de M.E.Ch.A., y luego en la universidad donde permaneci\u00f3 envuelta en la comunidad Latina y donde es una mentora de ni\u00f1os. A pesar de haber nacido en Sacramento California, Marcela reconoce su identidad Latina, espec\u00edficamente, el ser Peruana y Salvadore\u00f1a.<\/p>\n
