University of Oregon faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to attend an information session about research grants and fellowships available from the Center for the Study of Women in Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, join CSWS Director Michelle McKinley as she discusses the application process for all research grants, including the prestigious Jane Grant Dissertation Fellowship. The info session will be held 4\u20135:30 p.m. in the Jane Grant Conference Room, 330 Hendricks Hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\nAcademic Year 2019-20, faculty and staff can apply for grants of up to $6,000\nand graduate students can apply for grants of up to $3,000 to support research\nand\/or creative work on women and gender. In addition, doctoral candidates can\napply for the Jane Grant Dissertation Fellowship. This award, honoring the wife\nof CSWS\u2019s benefactor William Harris, is given annually to an outstanding\nscholar writing a dissertation on women and gender. The fellowship carries a\nstipend of $18,000, plus additional benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nyear, CSWS awarded more than $65,000 in grant funding to support research on\nthe intersecting nature of gender identities and inequalities initiated by members\nof the UO community from a range of disciplines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center has offered research funding to faculty and\ngraduate students at the UO for more than 40 years. By providing these highly\ncompetitive grants and fellowships, CSWS consistently has supported many\nimportant research projects at various stages of development and enriched\nprograms in all sectors of the university. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to research grants, a limited number of graduate\nstudent travel grants (up to $300) are being offered for travel expenses to be\nincurred during AY 2019-20. These grants provide partial support for travel to\npresent papers that relate to women and gender at a conference, or for a\nworkshop related to women and gender. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
