Her two  books\u2014<em>Monstrous Intimacies: Making Post-Slavery Subjects<\/em> (Duke UP, 2010) and <em>In the Wake: On Blackness and Being <\/em>(Duke UP, 2016)\u2014have solidified her place as a leading thinker in her field. <em>In the Wake<\/em>,  in particular, has been vastly influential in broadening and deepening  interdisciplinary understandings of diaspora. It was nominated for a  2017 Hurston\/Wright Legacy Award and named one of the best books of 2016  in <em>The Guardian Newspaper<\/em> and <em>The Walrus.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sharpe is currently working on a monograph called&nbsp;<em>Black. Still.
