Sangita Gopal<\/a>, associate professor of cinema studies, will present a talk entitled \u201cBourgeois Extreme: Genre and Global Flows\u201d as part of the Department of Comparative Literature\u2019s \u201cWhat Matters To Me\u201d series on Friday, May 11, at 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Professor Gopal teaches in the Department of Cinema Studies, the Department of English, and the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon.<\/p>\n

She directs the Women of Color Project at the UO Center for the Study of Women in Society.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gopal is the author of Conjugations: Marriage and Form in New Bollywood Cinema<\/em> (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2011) and coeditor of Global Bollywood: Travels of Hindi Film Music<\/em> (Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 2008). She is currently workin gon two book projects.<\/p>\n
