June 10, 2016\u2014<\/strong>Long-time CSWS faculty affiliates Lisa Gilman<\/a> and Courtney Thorsson<\/a> are among 15 recipients of the 2016-17 Faculty Excellence Award. The Faculty Excellence Award is granted through the UO Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.<\/p>\n

The award \u2014\u201cdesigned to further the university\u2019s commitment to improving its academic quality and reputation by recognizing, supporting and retaining world-class, tenure-related faculty\u201d\u2014is made possible by the support of Lorry Lokey.<\/p>\n

Lisa Gilman<\/p><\/div>\n

Each recipient receives either $20,000 in salary supplements or $25,000 in research funding.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gilman, a professor of English (Folklore Program), and Dr. Thorsson, an associate professor of English, are both previous recipients of CSWS Faculty Research Awards.<\/p>\n
