A neuroscientist, she has been the director of the Motor Control Lab at the University of Oregon since 1980. She will talk about her newest book, <em>Infinite Awareness: The Awakening of a Scientific Mind<\/em> (Rowman &amp; Littlefield Publishers, October 2015), at two events in November, one on the UO campus in Eugene on Nov. 4, and one at the White Stag building in Portland on November 19.<\/p>\n<p>From the publisher: \u201cAs a neuroscientist, Marjorie Woollacott had no doubts that the brain was a purely physical entity controlled by chemicals and electrical pulses. When she experimented with meditation for the first time, however, her entire world changed. Woollacott\u2019s journey through years of meditation has made her question the reality she built her career upon and has forced her to ask what human consciousness really is. Infinite Awareness pairs Woollacott\u2019s research as a neuroscientist with her self-revelations about the mind\u2019s spiritual power.
