The award is given to tenured faculty members at the associate or full professor rank with a history of distinguished scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>A professor in the Department of Anthropology, Morgen has conducted more than 40 years of distinguished research focused on the intersections of gender, race and class in U.S. public policy.<\/p>\n<p>In announcing the award, the\u00a0Office of the Vice President for Research &amp; Innovation noted: \u201cThrough her scholarship and intellectual leadership, she has been instrumental in the founding of the fields of feminist anthropology and the anthropology of North America.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 28, 2015\u2014Sandra Morgen, a former, long-time director of the UO Center for the Study of Women in Society, was honored with a 2015 Outstanding Career Award by the Office of the Vice President for Research &amp; Innovation.
