Best-selling journalist and memoirist Novella Carpenter<\/a> will read from and talk about her books including her urban farm experience in downtown Oakland, California. Carpenter is the author of Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer<\/em> and Gone Feral: Tracking My Dad Through the Wild<\/em> and coauthor of The Essential Urban Farmer<\/em>. She studied food writing with Michael Pollan at UC Berkeley\u2019s Graduate School of Journalism. Her work has appeared in Food and Wine<\/em>, Mother Jones<\/em>, Salon.com<\/em>, and other publications. Carpenter lives and farms near downtown Oakland. Her blog is Ghost Town Farm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Farm_City_cover_WEB\"<\/a>The fourth annual CSWS Northwest Women Writers Symposium \u201cOur Daily Bread: Women\u2019s Stories of Food and Resilience\u201d<\/a> will take place in locations on the University of Oregon campus and at the downtown Eugene Public Library on Mother\u2019s Day weekend, May 7 \u2013 9, 2015.
