Abrego<\/a>, Assistant Professor, UCLA C\u00e9sar E. Ch\u00e1vez Department of Chicana\/o Studies. Trained as a sociologist, Abrego studies families, Central American migration, and Latino immigrants\u2019 lived experiences of U.S. immigration laws. She will be discussing insights from her book, <em>Sacrificing Families: Navigating Laws, Labor, and Love Across Borders<\/em> (Stanford University Press), which examines the economic and emotional well-being of immigrants and their families\u2014both in the United States and in the home country\u2014as these are shaped by immigration policies and gendered expectations.
