Carri\u00f3n will also participate in a question and answer session about his composition process and his relationship to Burgos\u2019 poetry. Simultaneous translation to English will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Julia de Burgos has been recognized as one of the most important voices of the Latin American avant-garde, and is also a foundational figure in feminist and African Puerto Rican writing.\u00a0 Alberto Carri\u00f3n is one of the most well known Puerto Rican composers and singers from the seventies, and he has previously set to music the poetry of Luis Pal\u00e9s Matos. His CD on Julia de Burgos is being launched this coming March.
