The Center for the Study of Women in Society announces an exciting internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students interested in women\u2019s and gender studies, public relations, and non-profit work.<\/p>\n

Summer interns will participate in a variety of public relations projects in preparation for the November 7-9 \u201cAgents of Change\u201d celebration and events related to the 40th anniversary of CSWS and WGS. Applicants should have strong visual and written communication skills; experience with digital media production is preferred.<\/p>\n

We are seeking at least five interns with experience and interests in the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Archival and online research<\/li>\n
  2. Digital design and publication<\/li>\n
  3. Social media<\/li>\n
  4. Public relations and advertising<\/li>\n
  5. Non-profit development<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Students may earn up to 3 credit hours (30 hours of project work per credit hour, to be completed between June 24-September 6, 2013). Internship credit hours can be arranged through WGS 409\/609 or the student\u2019s home department. To apply, submit the attached application by May 15, 2013.     \u201cAgents of Change\u201d event description: In collaboration with the ASUO Women\u2019s Center and the Department of Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, the Center for the Study of Women in Society presents \u201cAgents of Change\u201d \u2013 a three-day celebration of feminist research, activism, and creativity at the University of Oregon. The celebration opens on Thursday, November 7, by honoring the legacy of feminist research and leadership through special guests and a new documentary film on the founding of CSWS. On Friday, November 8, the symposium \u201cWomen\u2019s Stories, Women\u2019s Lives\u201d explores important personal and political moments from four decades of change, progress, and challenges in feminism. On Friday evening, the celebration moves into feminist visions of the future with special guest Ursula K. Le Guin. Feminist utopian thought continues on Saturday, November 9, with the \u201cWorlds Beyond World\u201d symposium that explores the role that feminist speculative fiction has played in helping us think about brighter and less oppressive futures.
