Kessler is\u00a0professor &amp; director of the UO Multimedia Journalism Master&#8217;s Program and a member of the CSWS <a href=\"http:\/\/csws.uoregon.edu\/?page_id=10220\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women Writers<\/a> Advisory Board.<\/p>\n<p>Kessler will be a leading an afternoon workshop at the <a href=\"http:\/\/csws-archive.uoregon.edu\/?p=15020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2013 CSWS Women Writers Symposium: Common Ground<\/a> on May 11, 2013. Her workshop will be\u00a0\u201cThe Power of Fact:\u00a0 Nonfiction Storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kessler is the author of twelve books, including seven works of narrative nonfiction.<!--more--> Using a combination of immersion reportage and deep research, she has tackled subjects as diverse as 21st century teen girl culture (<em>My Teenage Werewolf<\/em>) and Alzheimer&#8217;s (Pacific Northwest Book Award winner <em>Dancing with Rose<\/em>).
