Come join Dr. Juan Eduardo (Ed) Wolf and the Center for Latino\/a and Latin American Studies (CLLAS) to identify and discuss the issues related to these events and others of common interest between Afro-descendant and Indigenous peoples of Latin America and UO scholars. The meeting will help decide the future direction of the CLLAS Research Action Project (RAP) dedicated to such issues.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Last year, Drs. Alai Reyes-Santos, Lanie Millar and Wolf coordinated the Reconoci.do project, an exhibition of photographs taken by activists in the Dominican Republic that helped focus on the stateless situation of Black Dominicans of Haitian descent. The RAP also sponsored a panel at the CLLAS Symposium. This year, the RAP is sponsoring a Works-In-Progress Series to help scholars get feedback on current projects.<\/p>\n<p>We hope to grow this community of researchers and scholars engaging the social, political, historical, and cultural experiences of Latin American indigenous and Afro-descendant communities in the Americas. Come learn about how you can become involved with our RAPs to advocate for your work or research interests. Open to faculty and graduate students.
