The full body of her lecture was published recently in the\u00a0<em>Latin American Studies Association Forum,<\/em>\u00a0Summer 2015, Volume XLVI, Issue 3 pp. 4-14 and can be accessed at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lasa.international.pitt.edu\/forum\/files\/vol46-issue3\/MartinDiskinMemorialLecture.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/lasa.international.pitt.edu\/forum\/files\/vol46-issue3\/MartinDiskinMemorialLecture.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Martin Diskin Memorial Lectureship is offered at each LASA International Congress to an outstanding individual who combines commitments to activism and rigorous scholarship. The Latin American Studies Association (LASA) is the largest professional Association in the world for individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America. With over 9,500 members, 45 percent of whom reside outside the United States, LASA is the one association that brings together experts on Latin America from all disciplines and diverse occupational endeavors, across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Stephen is the director of the UO Center for Latino\/a and Latin American Studies and Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences, Department of
