{"id":4676,"date":"2014-04-02T08:37:39","date_gmt":"2014-04-02T15:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cllas.uoregon.edu\/?p=4676"},"modified":"2015-04-04T10:56:35","modified_gmt":"2015-04-04T17:56:35","slug":"cllas-professional-development-publishing-workshop-with-gisela-fosado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cllas.uoregon.edu\/cllas-professional-development-publishing-workshop-with-gisela-fosado\/","title":{"rendered":"CLLAS Professional Development: Publishing Workshop with Gisela Fosado"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate Student Lounge<br \/>\nSusan Campbell\u00a0Hall<br \/>\n1431\u00a0Johnson Lane<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">CLLAS invites junior faculty to a<span class=\"Apple-style-span\">\u00a0p<\/span>ublishing workshop with Gisela Fosado, Duke University Press Editor for Anthropology, History, Latin American Studies, Social Movements, Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, and Latino Studies.<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">This workshop will cover some of the common challenges of turning the dissertation into a first book (some of which also tend to crop up in the second book), the complicated state of the publishing industry and trends that are emerging in publishing scholarly books. These trends speak to what might be the state of scholarly publishing in 10 or so years. The workshop will also cover books with integral digital content, including discussion on gender and newer publication formats. Dr. Fosado will speak for 40 minutes and leave more than an hour for questions. Please come with specific questions for the workshop.
