Her research\u00a0focuses on GLBT political activism and Catholic coloniality in the\u00a0Dominican Republic. She is an award-winning novelist and poet. Her\u00a0novels include <em>Erzulie\u2019s Skirt<\/em> (RedBone Press 2006) and <em>When the Sun\u00a0Once Again Sang to the People<\/em> (KRK Ediciones 2011); her short stories\u00a0and poems have been featured in numerous anthologies and literary\u00a0magazines. Her published scholarship engages topics on Afro-Latin@ and\u00a0Afro-Diasporic queer identities and aesthetics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>140 Allen Hall 1020 University St.
