{"id":12235,"date":"2021-12-01T08:33:09","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T16:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cllas.uoregon.edu\/?p=12235"},"modified":"2024-10-22T11:03:04","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T18:03:04","slug":"cllas-faculty-in-leadership-positions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cllas.uoregon.edu\/cllas-faculty-in-leadership-positions\/","title":{"rendered":"CLLAS Faculty in Leadership Positions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current and Former CLLAS Directors Profiled in SOJC Article<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>SOJC article profiles current CLLAS Director, Chris Ch\u00e1vez and previous CLLAS Director, Gabriela Mart\u00ednez, who now leads WGSS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Two long-term School of Journalism and Communication scholars have been recently appointed to leadership roles in cross-campus programs.<\/p><p>Associate professor Chris Ch\u00e1vez is the new director of the Center for Latino\/a and Latin American Studies, succeeding professor Gabriela Mart\u00ednez \u201905, who is the new head of the Department of Women\u2019s, Gender and Sexuality Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. Both will also continue teaching in the School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC). <\/p><p>Established experts in their fields, the two faculty members\u2019 groundbreaking research places them on the leading edge of media studies and international communication and contributes to the interdisciplinary work taking place at UO. <\/p><p>Ch\u00e1vez has been involved with the Center for Latino\/a and Latin American Studies since he joined UO in 2013. <\/p><cite>Read more here:
