SPED 571. Applied Behavior Analysis Assessment. 5 Credits.

Students will build fluency with the basic principles of applied behavior analysis and the application of these principles to conduct functional behavior assessments, including experimental functional analyses, to determine the function of behavior and to build function-based behavior change programs. This course is designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate level students who are preparing to teach or support individuals with challenging behavior, dedicated to maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of their teaching support, and interested in redesigning environments to prevent the development and occurrence of challenging behaviors. Students cannot receive credit for both SPED 471/571 and SPSY 671.
