REL 241. Buddhism. 4 Credits.
Survey of the diverse paths to nirvana forged by Buddhists throughout Asia from ancient times to the present. Topics include Buddhist philosophy, meditation, monasticism, karma and rebirth, Tantric practice, social engagement, and commodification. Assignments include analytical papers, creative papers, textual recitation, film reviews, and experiential learning exercises.
