GSL 345M. History and Ethics of Global Health. 4 Credits.
This course examines the ethics of global health from an interdisciplinary liberal arts perspective, with a particular attention to the history of this field. It is broad in geographic and chronological scope, beginning with ancient medical codes such as the Hippocratic Oath. A bulk of our time will be spent from 1900 to the present when the antecedents of global health (tropical medicine, colonial medicine, international medicine) emerged. Multilisted with HIST 345M.
