Language is a fundamental aspect of human beings and is central to social life. In this course, we will consider a range of topics relevant to our ability to comprehend and produce language, focusing on East Asian languages. We will discuss various topics ranging from the nature of abstract linguistic representation to the relationships between language, cognition, and culture.
