Lectures, discussions, and readings in English. Survey of the earliest period of Chinese literature: oracle bones and the invention of writing; the Five Classics; early philosophical texts (Daoist, Confucian, etc); early story-telling, narrative, and poetry.
Requisites: Prereq: WR 121Z or equivalent.
