BA 453. Business Strategy and Planning. 4 Credits.

Capstone course focusing on strategy formulation and decisional processes. Includes writing a business plan that applies knowledge and develops course of action to accomplish organizational objectives. Students cannot receive credit for both BA 453 and BA 453H.
Requisites: Prereq: MGMT 311 (or MGMT 311H), MKTG 311 (or MKTG 311H), BA 308 (or BA 308H), OBA 312 (or OBA 312H), OBA 335 (or OBA 335H), FIN 311 ( or FIN 311H or EC 311), FIN 316 (or FIN 316H), BA 325 (or BA 325H), OBA 311 (or OBA 311H).

General social sciences is a multidisciplinary, undergraduate program that prepares students for success in an interconnected global environment. GSS majors learn how analyze social issues using research and critical thinking. They also develop innovative problem-solving skills, which are applicable towards professional fields like business, government, law, and education. The GSS curriculum provides flexibility in both class schedules and coursework. This allows students to tailor their educations according to their interests, and to balance multiple academic or personal pursuits in their lives.

Learning another language fulfills the primary purpose of a university education: It prepares you to reason, analyze, solve problems, and communicate in a world of widely differing cultures. Within the Department of German and Scandinavian, students can choose a major focus in German; in Scandinavian; or in interdisciplinary German and Scandinavian Studies. In the ‘interdisciplinary German and Scandinavian Studies’ option, the student usually chooses German or Scandinavian for one half of their course work, and another discipline that overlaps with German or Scandinavian (such as History, Global Studies, Political Science, etc.) for the other half of their course work. We offer language instruction in both German and Swedish (Swedish being the language for the Scandinavian majors and minors). Culture and society courses are offered at the upper level in both German and in English, depending on the course.
