We completed this by working collaboratively to revise and develop curriculum, establish educator networks, and create professional development tool kits.<\/p>\n<h3>Chinese Curriculum<\/h3>\n<p>The Pacific Northwest Pathways Collective funded an instructor and teaching assistant for the Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/student-programs\/bridging-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridging Project<\/a> during the 2018-19 academic year.&nbsp;The <a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/student-programs\/bridging-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridging Project<\/a> was an online language learning course designed specifically for high school students with high-proficiency levels (Advanced-low). The course used engaging, age-appropriate topics to encourage students to continue studying the language.<\/p>\n<h3>Russian Curriculum<\/h3>\n<p>Developing quality classroom materials requires time, which many teachers don&#8217;t have to give. The <a href=\"https:\/\/pathways.uoregon.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russian Dual Immersion Language Instruction Repository<\/a> eased the burden of curriculum development. The online repository still includes curriculum for learners at all levels, and the materials are searchable by tags such as level and topic. Teachers can add their own activities to the repository to share with the community. They can also post comments on materials uploaded by others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"project-text\">\n<p>The Collective also funded an instructor and teaching assistant for the Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/student-programs\/bridging-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridging Project<\/a> during the 2018-19 academic year.&nbsp;The <a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/student-programs\/bridging-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridging Project<\/a> was an online language learning course designed specifically for high school students with high proficiency levels (Advanced-low). The course used engaging, age-appropriate topics to encourage students to continue studying the language.<\/p>\n<h3>Articulation Research<\/h3>\n<p>CASLS and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdx.edu\/russian-flagship\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russian Flagship Program<\/a> at Portland State University analyzed proficiency testing data from Chinese and Russian programs throughout the Pacific Northwest. We synthesized our research in two documents outlining the various pathways of study towards <a href=\"https:\/\/thelanguageflagship.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Flagship Programs<\/a> in the Pacific Northwest. The documents show proficiency level expectations for students graduating high school or community college.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/ChineseLinkages.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Learn about pathways to the University of Oregon Chinese Flagship Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/casls.uoregon.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/RussianLinkages.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Learn about pathways to the Portland State University Russian Flagship Program<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Members of the Collective<\/h3>\n<p>CASLS and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdx.edu\/russian-flagship\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Portland State University&nbsp;Russian Flagship Program<\/a>&nbsp;lead the Pacific Northwest Pathways Collective.&nbsp;Members of the Collective include&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pps.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Portland Public Schools<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woodburnsd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Woodburn Public Schools<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asdk12.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anchorage Public Schools<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Portland Community College<\/a>.
